Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 June 2026 · App: nqood (نقود) · Developer: Switech

nqood (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a personal budgeting and expense/income tracker. It helps you note what you spend and earn, set savings goals and strategies, schedule reminders for recurring payments, and view your own statistics. nqood does not connect to your bank accounts, does not process or move money, and does not provide any financial, investment, lending, or advisory services. The figures in the app are notes that you type in yourself.

This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we handle

  • Account information: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email) to create your account.
  • Budgeting content you enter: transactions (amounts, categories, partners/payees, notes), wallets/payment methods you define, financial goals and rules, and scheduled/recurring payments. This is content you create and can edit or delete.
  • Voice input (optional): if you use voice capture, the short audio clip you record is sent to our server and to Google’s Gemini AI to transcribe and turn it into a transaction. We do not retain the audio after processing.
  • Bank SMS & notification content (optional, Android only, off by default): if you turn on message capture, nqood reads incoming bank/wallet SMS — and, where you enable it, notifications from banking/wallet apps — on your device to detect a transaction. An on-device filter runs first; only messages that look like a financial transaction are processed, and one-time passcodes (OTP), verification codes, and personal messages are ignored and never leave your device. See section 3.
  • Device & technical data: app version, device model, operating-system version, language, a device/installation identifier, and an advertising identifier.
  • Usage & diagnostics: in-app events, performance data, and crash reports, used to keep the app stable and improve it.

2. Permissions we may ask for

  • Microphone — only to record voice notes when you tap the mic.
  • Notifications — reminders for scheduled payments, goals, and insights. You can turn these off.
  • SMS (Receive SMS, Android only) — optional and off by default. Only requested if you turn on bank-SMS capture, so the app can read incoming bank/wallet messages on your device to detect a transaction. Used solely for this purpose; see section 3.
  • Notification access (Android only) — optional and off by default. Only requested if you turn on notification capture, so the app can read notifications from recognized banking/wallet apps on your device to detect a transaction. Used solely for this purpose; see section 3.
  • Biometric / device unlock — optional, to lock the app behind your fingerprint/face.

3. On-device SMS & notification capture (optional, Android only)

This feature is disabled by default and does nothing until you explicitly enable it in Settings and grant the relevant Android permission. When enabled:

  • nqood reads incoming bank/wallet SMS messages — and, where you separately enable it, notifications from banking/wallet apps — to detect a transaction.
  • A filter runs entirely on your device first. Only messages that look like a financial transaction from a recognized bank or wallet are processed. One-time passcodes (OTP), verification codes, and personal or non-financial messages are ignored and never leave your device.
  • For a message that passes this on-device filter, the message text is sent securely to our server and to Google’s Gemini AI only to extract the transaction details (amount, date, merchant). We do not store the raw message or notification content on our servers after parsing.
  • You always review and confirm the detected transaction before it is saved — nothing is recorded automatically.
  • You can turn this off at any time in Settings, or revoke the permission in your device settings. This feature is not available on iOS.
  • We never read, transmit, or store SMS or notifications for any purpose other than this transaction detection, and we never sell this data.

4. How we use the information

  • To provide the core features: recording, categorizing, statistics, goals, rules, reminders, and syncing your data across sessions.
  • To send essential account emails (verification, password reset).
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose crashes.
  • To show ads (see “Advertising”), where applicable.

5. Service providers we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with providers strictly to run the app:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — usage analytics and crash diagnostics.
  • Google Gemini API — to parse text and voice into transactions.
  • Google AdMob — to serve ads and manage ad consent.
  • Brevo — to send transactional emails (verification, password reset).
  • Hosting & network — our application server and a content-delivery/security network that route and protect traffic.

6. Advertising

nqood may show ads via Google AdMob. Where required, we show a consent prompt before any personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads. Ads use an advertising identifier; you can reset or limit it in your device settings.

7. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on our servers and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Some data is also cached on your device (including an offline queue) so the app works without internet and syncs when you reconnect. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

8. Data retention

We keep your account and budgeting data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our active systems (backups are rotated out on a normal schedule). Voice audio is not retained after it is transcribed.

9. Your rights & account deletion

You can access and edit your data inside the app. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

Depending on your region, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict processing of your data. Contact us to exercise these.

10. Children

nqood is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. International users

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own by us and our service providers, with appropriate safeguards in place.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
